Birdbaths
Birdbaths, are they normal and can they ever be prevented?

The goal of not having any birdbaths is not realistic. Birdbaths are low spots in the concrete surface that can trap water. Many owners and designers might consider these to be finishing problems. However, even when reasonable standard tolerances are applied to the finish, birdbaths are possible and even likely, and normal. Per ACI-117 eliminating birdbaths would require a "Zero tolerance", which is nearly impossible according to the American Society of Concrete Contractors.
